Is AI girlfriend chat private? What to check before you start

Understand private AI companion chat, data processing, memory controls and deletion. See what LoveAI's privacy policy says and what private does not mean.

The short answer

LoveAI conversations, custom companions and generated media are private to your experience, not public posts. The service and its infrastructure providers still process data to deliver replies and images. Private does not mean offline, zero retention or end-to-end encrypted. Read the privacy policy for the actual processing and deletion terms.

Explore the public companion catalog

Private to whom?

Separate public visibility from service processing. A private companion should not appear in a public community feed, but a hosted AI service still needs to process the conversation and relevant context to answer you. Those are different questions, and a privacy claim should address both.

LoveAI keeps user-created companions and conversations out of the public catalog. The public characters you can browse are a separate catalog, not other users' private creations.

What data is used to produce a reply or photo?

LoveAI's privacy policy describes processing of conversation text, preferences, relevant memories and identity references by its AI infrastructure provider. Its policy states that private conversations, uploaded identity references and generated media are not used to train generative models.

Interrupted image delivery uses temporary private recovery storage. The policy explains the retention limits, including a one-hour recoverable output cache at the provider. Account deletion does not instantly erase that time-limited cache. Read the linked policy for the complete terms instead of interpreting private as no server storage.

Which controls should you check?

Review your profile preferences and saved memories in Settings. You can correct or delete memory, export data and request account deletion through the product. A private scene's memory scope is a continuity control within your account, not a change in who operates the service.

  1. Read the policy's collection, processing and retention sections.
  2. Use a fictional nickname and share only details needed for the experience.
  3. Review saved memories if a conversation includes something you do not want carried forward.
  4. Check export and deletion options before committing to a long-running relationship.

What about a shared device?

Account privacy does not protect an unlocked browser from someone using the same device. Sign out when finished and consider what remains in local downloads, screenshots and browser history. Deleting a file from the service does not remove copies you downloaded elsewhere.

Separate privacy questions that are easy to confuse

Privacy has several parts: who can access an account, how long chats and media are retained, whether content is used for training, and what happens after deletion. A private character setting answers only the public visibility question; it does not answer every data-handling question.

Before sharing sensitive details, read the current privacy policy and account controls. Look for collection, retention, deletion, model-training and third-party processing language. If a policy does not answer a question, treat it as unanswered and ask support rather than guessing.

Use data minimization in an adult roleplay account

Use fictional names, locations and preferences when the detail is not needed for the scene. Avoid uploading identity documents, someone else’s photos, financial information or real-world secrets. For a continuity test, a fictional drink or invented weekend plan is enough.

  1. Decide whether the detail changes the scene.
  2. Use a fictional substitute when it does not.
  3. Review saved memories and delete facts you no longer need.
  4. Use account export or deletion controls when leaving the service.
